There are 2 types of splints, external and internal that can be placed after a rhinoplasty/ septoplasty Some congestion is normal in early healing, but significant improvements in airflow are typically noticed immediately upon splint removal. Internal splints can be a little bit more unpleasant since the packing is being removed. Pain and congestion get dramatically better after they're removed Bed rest and light activity is recommended for the first 24 hours postoperatively
We encourage getting up to walk for at least 30 minutes each day.
