My bike is a 2016 so out or warranty
Has anybody got any advice on the best way to treat/remove the rust? Little bit of rust remover and touch up paint should sort it. Subscribed 10 3.3k views 5 years ago finally took the swingarm off the mt07 and couldn't believe the rust.more Watch out for rust under the chain guide on the swing arm
My chain guide has rubbed the paint of the top of the swing arm and surface rust has started to form Anyone have any idea how to treat it The rust wiped away, but if i repaint it it'll just wear the paint back off. My mt07 has rust coming through the paint on the swingarm, which indicates cheap shitty paint/surface preparation
These were all stored in relatively dry climates (brisbane australia) and always garaged
Compare this to 80's/90's honda's and there's a huge gap in build quality. **** make sure to smash like and subscribe *** whats up guys About half of this time it was kept inside, and half outside so it saw a little bit of rain but not cold as it was summer A while ago i noticed a bit of rust in the form of a thin line maybe 5mm long next to the weld on the right arm of the swing.

This winter has been especially brutal for the bike, anyone have it worse? I have rust spots on my right swing arm at various spots Before i remove the rust anyone know the paint code for swing arm paint if any? The swing arm is particularly prone, so are the bolts holding the disks on
The water pipes don't rust, but they corrode
All of this is surface corrosion, it's all cosmetic It doesn't affect the operation of the bike at all I'd say it's annoying, rather than a disaster. Took my rear wheel off last week to change the brake shoes and noticed that on my swingarm there it has rusted (almost completely through) on the upright support that connects to the monoshock, ive had a look on ebay for a replacement arm but they seem to be few and far between (not.
Show everyone why the fz07/mt07 is the best bike to ride and how you made it your own. 2019 model and i had the rear swing arm replaced for this under warranty There was another portion where it was clearly rusting under the paintwork on the otherside. Check for any rust on the swing arm welds
Minimal miles, but i find the condition of chains on second hand bikes to speak volumes about the quality of maintenance that the previous owner has done
I'd recommend a full fluid change (brakes, oil, coolant) just because it's easy and sets your mind at ease. Personally i would check if there's any rust on the swingarm (especially the area under the chain protector A lot of dirt collects there and runs away the paint making it easy for rust to form) Also check the frame and bolts for rust.
